Handiwork for Tree Care
Handiwork helps tree care businesses turn a walkthrough into a consistent, itemized bid for removals, trims, and storm cleanup — then get that job onto the calendar, crewed, and invoiced without losing the trail of what happened on a property last season. Job photos stay attached to the job itself, from the bid through the after-cleanup shot, and every property builds its own record of what came down and what got pruned. It's the estimate-to-invoice side of the business, running from a phone instead of scattered texts and a stack of paper bids.
Sound Familiar?
These are the problems we hear from tree care every day.
Bidding a removal or a trim off a walkthrough, then watching the number drift once the crew's on site and the crane can't reach where you assumed it could
A single storm turning a quiet week into three weeks of cleanup calls, with crew and equipment days rebooked every time the weather shifts again
Invoices sitting unsent for weeks after a cleanup because the crew's already three storms behind on the next one
A property's tree history — what came down, what got pruned, and when — living in one arborist's memory instead of a record anyone on the crew can pull up
Bid photos and after-cleanup shots scattered across whoever's phone happened to be out that day
What You Can Use Today

On Our Roadmap for Tree Care
What we're building next for tree care.
The Variables That Actually Set a Removal Price
Two arborists can walk the same tree and land on two different numbers, and it’s rarely because either one is careless — a removal price hinges on details that are easy to eyeball differently: whether the crane can set up close enough to reach it or the crew has to rig and lower every section by hand, how tight the lean sits to the roofline or the power line, how many loads the chipper and hauling will actually run. Handiwork turns that walkthrough into an itemized estimate on the spot, with the hazard notes and the crew and equipment line items built into the number itself instead of left to memory. Once the customer gives you the go-ahead and you mark the bid approved, the same estimate becomes the job — height, hazard notes, and all — so the crew shows up already working from the number that was quoted, not one redone from scratch.
A Crew Calendar That Survives a Forecast Change
Climbing gear gets grounded by a wind advisory, a hailstorm turns three routine trims into urgent cleanup calls overnight, and the week you planned Monday rarely looks the same by Wednesday. Handiwork’s drag-and-drop calendar lets you drop a job into a new time slot and hand it to a different climber or ground crew without digging back through a paper schedule to see what else was already booked that day. Automated reminders still go out to the customer either way, so a reshuffled week doesn’t also turn into a string of no-shows.
One Property Record Instead of One Arborist’s Memory
Ask which trees came down on a property two seasons ago, or whether that leaning oak already got a partial removal, and the honest answer is usually “whoever was on that job would remember.” Handiwork keeps every job’s notes and history attached to the customer record — the estimate that led to it, what the crew wrote up afterward — so the next estimate or the next storm call doesn’t depend on the same crew lead answering the phone.
Photos That Stay Attached to the Job
A hazard shot from the bid walkthrough, a mid-job photo of a hung-up section, the after picture once the stump’s ground and the site’s cleared — all of it matters, and all of it usually ends up scattered across whichever phone happened to be out. Handiwork attaches photos directly to the job record, so a bid photo, a documentation shot for the property owner, or before-and-after proof of the cleanup lives with that job instead of a camera roll you’d have to scroll back through.
Getting Invoiced Before the Next Storm Call
The days right after a big removal or a storm cleanup are exactly when paperwork falls behind — the crew’s already staged for the next call. A cleanup job also often ends up costing more than the original bid once the actual debris volume or an added stump grind gets factored in, and Handiwork builds the invoice from the job itself, line by line, so it matches what happened on site instead of the number from the walkthrough. The payment link — card or ACH through Stripe — goes out with it, so the job gets billed while it’s still fresh instead of stacking up unbilled behind the next three storm calls.
What’s on the Roadmap
Tree care isn’t only project work — plant health care and fertilization programs are a recurring piece of the business, and Handiwork doesn’t automate that yet. Recurring service agreements are on our roadmap, along with a dedicated app crews could run straight from a phone without a browser tab open, and job types built specifically for removals, trims, and cleanups instead of every job landing in the same general category. None of that is available today. What is available right now is the full bid-to-paid pipeline: estimating, scheduling, invoicing, and online payments — the shape of most tree care work, one property, one season at a time.
