Handiwork for Landscaping
Handiwork helps landscaping businesses estimate everything from cleanups to full installs, schedule crews around the weather, and invoice both project work and maintenance visits online. Built for the project side of the business today, with recurring maintenance on the roadmap.
Sound Familiar?
These are the problems we hear from landscaping every day.
Quoting jobs that range from a two-hour cleanup to a multi-week hardscape install, with no consistent format
Rebuilding the week's schedule every time rain moves a crew off a job site
Invoicing a mix of one-time installs and recurring mowing routes without two separate systems
Property details — plant beds, irrigation zones, gate codes — scattered across texts and memory
Chasing payment on a big install while smaller maintenance invoices pile up unpaid
What You Can Use Today
Handiwork's core platform already works for landscaping — these features are live now.
On Our Roadmap for Landscaping
What we're building next for landscaping.
Landscaping Software Built for Two Kinds of Work
One week you’re bidding a paver patio and retaining wall install that will take a crew the better part of a month; the next week you’re squeezing four mowing stops into an afternoon around rain delays. Most landscaping business software is built for only one side of that — the big design-build jobs or the recurring routes, rarely both. Handiwork is built to handle the project side of your business today: estimating, scheduling, and getting paid. Recurring maintenance automation is next on our roadmap.
One Estimate Builder for Every Job Size
A two-hour spring cleanup and a six-week landscape install shouldn’t live in two different notebooks. Handiwork’s estimate builder lets you put together itemized quotes on site — plant material, hardscape units, labor, equipment — and send them to the customer before the crew packs the trailer back up. Once the customer gives you the go-ahead and you mark it approved, the estimate converts straight into a scheduled job, carrying every line item and price over automatically instead of having someone rebuild the same numbers in a separate invoice later.
Crews, Weather, and a Calendar That Keeps Up
Landscaping schedules get rewritten by the weather more than almost any other trade. Handiwork’s drag-and-drop calendar makes that manageable: when a storm pushes an install to next week, you drag the job to a new day and reassign the crew in a couple of taps. The whole team sees the updated schedule immediately, and customers get an automated reminder ahead of their appointment — no separate round of phone calls needed.
One Invoicing System for Big Jobs and Small Ones
A $12,000 landscape renovation and a $180 mowing visit end the same way in Handiwork: mark the job complete, generate a line-item invoice, and send it with an online payment link. Customers pay by card or ACH through Stripe, so a big install doesn’t sit waiting on a mailed check, and a small maintenance invoice doesn’t get lost in the shuffle of bigger jobs on your plate.
Property Notes That Outlast a Sticky Note on the Dash
Every yard on your route runs by its own rules — which beds get the spring mulch, where the irrigation heads sit, which side gate the mower has to squeeze through, when the last fertilizer round went down. Handiwork keeps all of that on the customer’s profile alongside their full job history and notes, so the details travel with the account instead of living only in one crew lead’s memory. Bring on a second crew or a new hire, and they’re not starting from zero on a property they’ve never set foot on before.
Where Handiwork Draws the Line for Landscaping Right Now
We’ll be straightforward about this: Handiwork’s estimate-to-invoice pipeline is fully live, and it’s a genuinely strong fit for landscaping project work — design, installs, hardscape, cleanups. The recurring side of the business — mowing routes that repeat automatically week after week, sequenced by geography — is not built yet. Recurring maintenance schedules and route optimization are next up on our roadmap, alongside a native mobile app for crews working out of the truck. Until those ship, Handiwork still works well for scheduling maintenance visits one appointment at a time, the same way you’d schedule any other job.
Free to Start
There’s no subscription to sign up for. Handiwork takes a small, capped platform fee only on the payments that actually move through the app — the same percentage whether it’s a $12,000 install invoice or a $180 mowing stop, and it never grows past its cap even on your biggest job of the year. Getting set up costs nothing; we only get paid once your invoice does.
