Handiwork for Appliance Repair
Appliance repair runs on same-day urgency — a fridge stops cooling, a dryer quits mid-load, and the whole job needs to move at the pace of that one call. Handiwork lets techs price the repair standing next to the unit, send the invoice the moment it's fixed, and collect payment before the tools are back in the bag, without any of it waiting on paperwork later.
Sound Familiar?
These are the problems we hear from appliance repair every day.
A day of service calls booked entirely by phone, with nothing written down beyond a name, an address, and a vague description of the problem
Quoting a repair standing next to the washer or the fridge, then losing that number before you're back at the next stop
Invoicing whenever you remember to — sometimes days later, sometimes never, once a small repair call gets buried under bigger jobs
A personal check handed over at the door, since running a card was never really an option standing in someone's kitchen or utility closet
Notes on the last repair scattered across texts and memory, with nothing pulled together by the time that same address calls again

On Our Roadmap for Appliance Repair
What we're building next for appliance repair.
A Full Day of Service Calls, and Nothing Written Down
Appliance repair runs call to call — a fridge that stopped cooling overnight, a washer flooding the laundry room, a dryer that quit heating right before company’s due. Most of those calls come in by phone that same morning, get worked into whatever’s left of the day, and never touch a piece of paper until you’re standing in front of the actual appliance. Handiwork matches that same call-to-call rhythm — the price gets built standing at the unit, the invoice goes out the moment the repair’s finished, and payment lands before the next address is even on the map, none of it riding on a notebook or a memory to hold together.
Quote It Before You’ve Closed the Cabinet Door
A repair call usually gets priced on the spot — you’ve pulled the unit out, found the problem, and now you’re doing the math out loud for the homeowner standing next to you. Handiwork lets you build that estimate right there on your phone, with line items for the work you’re about to do, and send it before you’ve packed your tools back up. Once the homeowner gives you the go-ahead, mark it approved and it converts straight into a job — no separate paperwork, and nothing written on a scrap of paper that ends up in the wash.
Same-Day Calls on a Calendar That Can Actually Take Them
Appliance repair doesn’t run on a two-week booking window — most calls need to happen today or tomorrow, whichever comes first. Handiwork’s drag-and-drop calendar handles same-day scheduling as easily as next week’s, lets you assign whoever’s free to the next stop, and sends an automated email reminder so a customer waiting on a repair isn’t left guessing when you’ll show.
Paid Before the Panel’s Back On
A lot of appliance repair still gets billed on trust — an invoice mailed later, or a personal check handed over at the door because there was never a way to run a card standing in someone’s utility room. Handiwork generates a professional invoice the second the repair’s marked complete, with a payment link the customer can open right there on their phone. They pay by card or bank transfer through Stripe before you head out, instead of you following up on a small invoice three weeks from now.
Every Address Keeps Its Own Paper Trail
Ask any appliance repair tech what’s hardest to keep straight, and it’s usually not the call in front of them — it’s the one from six months ago. What already got tried at that address? Did the last visit leave a note about a part that was back-ordered, or a fix that didn’t quite hold? Handiwork’s customer profiles hold a full job history for every address — every visit, every invoice, and any notes left behind — so when that same house calls again, whoever picks up the phone can see exactly what happened last time instead of starting the conversation from scratch.
What Appliance Repair Doesn’t Get From Us Yet
We’d rather be upfront about the two gaps than let you find them the hard way. Every job still sits under one general category right now, whether the ticket says refrigerator, washer, or range — sorting work by appliance type hasn’t been built, it’s on our roadmap. Neither has a dedicated mobile app: today, running Handiwork on a call means opening the site in your phone’s browser between stops, and that installed version doesn’t exist yet.
Getting Started Costs Nothing
Signing up doesn’t cost anything, and there’s no monthly bill sitting between you and your first call. Handiwork earns a 3% fee, capped every month, and only on the money that actually moves through the app — nothing changes hands until a customer’s card or bank transfer does. Skip the contract entirely; there’s nothing to cancel if it turns out not to be a fit.
